GWIM will be celebrating its 20th Anniversary on Thursday, October 23, 2014 from 4:00pm to 7:30pm in the Copley Formal Lounge. Dr. Valerie Montgomery Rice, President and Dean of the Morehouse School of Medicine, will be giving the keynote address, with welcoming remarks by GWIM President Dr. Stacey Kaltman, and introductory remarks by Georgetown University President John J. DeGioia.

Following the keynote address by Dr. Montgomery Rice, we will have a panel discussion on the role of women in academic medicine. The panel discussion will be moderated by Dr. Darrell Kirch, President and CEO the Association of American Medical Colleges (AAMC). Panelists include:

  • Barbara S. Bregman, Ph.D., Professor of Neuroscience and Rehabilitation Medicine, Georgetown University Medical Center
  • Marilee Cole, MD, D.T.M.H., Director of Georgetown Global Health Elective in Cameroon and Global Health Consultant, Former GWIM President and Georgetown Professor of Medicine
  • Patricia A. King, JD, Carmack Waterhouse Professor of Law, Medicine, Ethics, and Public Policy, Georgetown University Law Center
